MP 1008 : The Lord’s my Shepherd

1 The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want.
He makes me lie in pastures green.
He leads me by the still, still waters,
His goodness restores my soul.
Chorus: And I will trust in You alone,
and I will trust in You alone,
for Your endless mercy follows me,
Your goodness will lead me home.
2 He guides my ways in righteousness
and He anoints my head with oil,
and my cup, it overflows with joy,
I feast on His pure delights.
3 And though I walk the darkest path
I will not fear the evil one,
for You are with me, and Your rod and staff,
are the comfort I need to know.

MP 225 : He’s got the whole world

1 He’s got the whole wide world in His hands,
He’s got the whole wide world in His hands,
He’s got the whole wide world in His hands,
He’s got the whole wide world in His hands.

2 He’s got everybody here in His hands,
He’s got everybody here in His hands,
He’s got everybody here in His hands,
He’s got the whole wide world in His hands

3 He’s got the tiny little baby in His hands
He’s got the tiny little baby in His hands
He’s got the tiny little baby in His hands
He’s got the whole wide world in His hands

4 He’s got you and me, brother, in His hands
He’s got you and me, brother, in His hands
He’s got you and me, brother, in His hands
He’s got the whole wide world in His hands

1 John 5 – 1 – 6  New International Version – UK
Faith in the incarnate Son of God
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands.
And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
This is the one who came by water and blood – Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

John 15:9-17  New International Version – UK
‘As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
My command is this: love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: love each other.

MP 381 : Jesus stand among us

1 Jesus, stand among us at the meeting of our lives,
be our sweet agreement at the meeting of our eyes;
O Jesus, we love You, so we gather here,
join our hearts in unity and take away our fear.
2 So to You we’re gathering out of each and every land,
Christ the love between us at the joining of our hands;
O Jesus, we love You, so we gather here,
join our hearts in unity and take away our fear.
3 Jesus stand among us at the breaking of the bread;
join us as one body as we worship You, our Head.
O Jesus, we love You, so we gather here;
Join our hearts in unity and take away our fear.

MP 52 : Because he lives

1 God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus;
He came to love, heal, and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
an empty grave is there
to prove my Saviour lives.
Chorus – Because He lives I can face tomorrow
because He lives all fear is gone;
because I know He holds the future,
and life is worth living
just because He lives.

2 How sweet to hold a new born baby,
and feel the pride and joy he gives;
but greater still the calm assurance,
this child can face uncertain days
because He lives.

3 And then one day I’ll cross the river;
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
and then as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory
and I’ll know He lives.

MP 704 : Through the love of God

1 Through the love of God our Saviour
all will be well;
free and changeless is His favour
all, all is well.
Precious is the blood that heals us,
perfect is the grace that seals us,
strong the hand stretched out to shield us;
all must be well.

2 Though we pass through tribulations,
all will be well;
ours, is such a full salvation,
all, all is well.
Happy, still in God , confiding;
fruitful, if in Christ abiding;
holy, through the Spirit’s guiding;
all must be well.

3 We expect a bright tomorrow;
all will be well;
faith can sing through days of sorrow,
‘All, all is well’
On our Father’s love relying,
Jesus every need supplying,
or in living or in dying,
all must be well.
