Call to Worship
Help to carry one another’s burdens
Let us not become tired of doing good
for if we do not give up
we will reap the harvest
as often as we have the chance
we should do good to everyone
MP 799: All I once held dear
1 All I once held dear, built my life upon
All this world reveres and wars to own
All I once thought gain, I have counted loss
Spent and worthless now, compared to this
Chorus; Knowing you Jesus, knowing you
There is no greater thing
You’re my all you’re the best
You’re my joy and righteousness
And I love you Lord
2 Now my heart’s desire is to know you more
To be found in you and known as yours
To possess by faith what I could not earn
All surpassing gift of righteousness
3 Oh, to know the power of your risen life
And to know you in your sufferings
To become like you in your death my Lord
So with you to live and never die
CH4 641/MP 590: Seek Ye First
1 Seek ye first the kingdom of God
And his righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you
Allelu Alleluia
Alleluia,Alleluia, Alleluia
Allelu Alleluia
2 Ask and it shall be given unto you
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and the door will be opened unto you
Allelu Alleluia
3 Man shall not live by bread alone
But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of the Lord
Allelu Alleluia
John 2:1-12 New International Version
Jesus Changes Water Into Wine
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
Then he called the bridegroom aside and said,
“Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
CH4 528/MP 456: Make me a channel
1 Make me a channel of your peace
Where there is hatred let me bring your love
Where there is injury your pardon Lord
And where there’s doubt true faith in you
Chorus: Oh Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul
2 Make me a channel of your peace
Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope
Where there is darkness only light
And where there’s sadness ever joy
3 Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving of ourselves that we receive
And in dying that we are born to eternal life
CH4 694: Brother sister
1 Brother sister let me serve you
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I may have the grace
To let you be my servant too
2 We are pilgrims on a journey
And companions on the road
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load
3 I will hold the Christ light for you
In the night time of your fears
I will hold my hand out to you
Speak the peace you long to hear
4 I will weep when you are weeping
When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we’ve seen this journey through
5 When we sing to God in heaven
We shall find such harmony
Born of all we’ve known together
of Christ’s love and agony
6 Brother sister let me serve you
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I may have the grace
To let you be my servant too
CH4 130/MP784: Ye servants of God
1 Ye servants of God, your master proclaim.
And publish abroad his wonderful name
The name all victorious of Jesus extoll
His kingdom is glorious and rules over all
2 God ruleth on high, almighty to save
And still, he is nigh, his presence we have
The great congregation his triumph shall sing
Ascribing salvation to Jesus our King
3 Salvation to God who sits on the throne
Let all cry aloud and honour the Son
The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim
fall down on their faces and worship the lamb
4 then let us adore and give him his right
all glory and power, all wisdom and might,
all honour and blessing, with angels above
and thanks never ceasing and infinite love
