Call to Worship
Heaven sent—from God, of God!
All that is good, worthy
and honourable;
all that represents the character and the goodness of God.
Let it be that our wisdom, our nature, our words and actions
reflect such a Heavenly Spirit.
Let this praise and time of worship
be received as heaven-sent:
God’s gift to us of time, space, and opportunity.
Let us come before God
and raise our worship.

MP 38 As we are gathered

1 As we are gathered, Jesus is here,
one with each other, Jesus is here:
joined by the Spirit, washed in His blood<
part of the body, the Church of God.
As we are gathered, Jesus is here,
one with each other, Jesus is here:

Hymn : Our God is a great big God

You deliver me from evil
You show Your righteousness
You save me from the darkness
You bring Your truth and light
My God is a great God
My God is a great God
My God is a great God
He’s a great God
In Your house are many strangers
At Your door You heal the sick
Blessed are the poor in spirit
For they shall be made new
My God is a great God
My God is a great God
My God is a great God
He’s a great God
Who is there in all the earth
In whom I can put my trust
Who can move these mighty mountains
Whose voice can calm these seas
My God is a great God
My God is a great God
My God is a great God
He’s a great God
He’s a great, He’s a great, He’s a great God
He’s a great, He’s a great, He’s a great God
He’s a great, He’s a great, He’s a great God
He’s a great, He’s a great, He’s a great God

James 3 : 13 – 18 NIV
1Who is wise and understanding among you?
Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
But if you harbour bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

MP 611 Spirit of holiness

Chorus: Spirit of holiness,
wisdom and faithfulness,
Wind of the Lord,
blessing strongly and free;
strength of our serving
and joy of our worshipping,
Spirit of God,
bring Your fulness to me!

1 You cam to interpret
and teach us effectively
all that the Saviour
has spoken and done:
to glorify Jesus in all Your activity,
promise and gift of the Father and Son:

2 You came with Your gifts
to supply all our poverty,
pouring Your love on the church in her need:
You came with Your fruit
for our growth to maturity
richly refreshing the souls that you feed;

MP 988 How deep the Fathers love

1 How deep the Father’s love for us,
how vast beyond all measure,
that He should give His only Son
to make a wretch His treasure,
How great the pain of searing loss –
the Father turns His face away,
as wounds which mar the chosen one
bring many sons to glory.

2 Behold the man upon a cross,
my sin upon His shoulders;
ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
call out among  the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought my life –
I know that it is finished.

3 I will not boast in anything,
no gifts, no power, no wisdom;
but I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer,
but this I know with all my heart,
His wounds have pain my ransom.
