Call to Worship
Here we gather in faith and hope
We come to celebrate
And tell God our joys
We come as we are
To tell God what is in our hearts
We come to worship
And encounter God’s presence
So in his presence may we find peace
In heart and soul and mind

Hymn CH4 257 : Singing we gladly

Refrain (sung twice)
Singing, we gladly worship the Lord together.
Singing, we gladly worship the Lord.
Those who are travelling the road of life
sow seeds of peace and love.

1 Come, bringing hope into a world of fear,
a world which is burdened down with dread,
a world which is yearning for a greater love
but needs to be shown the true way.

2 Come, bringing joyfully in both your hands
some kindling to light the path of peace,
some hope that there is a more human world
where justice and truth will be born.

3 Whenever hatefulness and violence
are banished for ever from our hearts,
then will the world believe the day is near
when sadness and pain shall find their end.

Hymn CH4 694 : Brother, sister

1 Brother, sister, let me serve you,
let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to
let you be my servant too.

2 We are pilgrims on a journey,
and companions on the road;
we are here to help each other
walk the mile and bear the load.

3 I will hold the Christ-light for you
in the night-time of your fear;
I will hold my hand out to you
speak the peace you long to hear.

4 I will weep when you are weeping;
when you laugh Ill laugh with you;
I will share your joy and sorrow
till we’ve seen the journey through.

5 When we sing to God in heaven
we shall find such harmony.
born of all we’ve known together
of Christ’s love and agony.

6 Brother, sister, let me serve you,
let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to
let you be my servant too.

Ephesians 2:12-22 New International Version

 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought nearby the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,  and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

MP 376 : Jesus put this song

1 Jesus puts this song in our hearts,
Jesus puts this song in our hearts;
it’s a song of joy no-one can take away.
Jesus put this song in our hearts.

2 Jesus taught us how to live in harmony,
Jesus taught us how to live in harmony,
different faces, different races, He made us one –
Jesus taught us how to live in harmony.

3 Jesus taught us how to be a family,
Jesus taught us how to be a family,
loving one another with the love that He gives –
Jesus taught us how to be a family.

4 Jesus turned our sorrow into dancing,
Jesus turned our sorrow into dancing,
changed our tears of sadness into rivers of joy –
Jesus turned our sorrow into dancing.

MP 1008 : The Lord’s my Shepherd

1 The Lord’s my shepherd,
I’ll not want.
He makes me lie in pastures green.
He leads me by the still, still waters,
His goodness restores my soul.

Chorus
And I will trust in You alone,
and I will trust in You alone,
for Yours endless mercy follows me,
Your Goodness will lead me home.

2 He guides my ways in righteousness,
and he anoints my head with oil,
and my cup, it overflows with joy,
I feast on His pure delights.
And I will trust…

3 And though I walk the darkest path,
I will not fear the evil one,
for You are with me, and Your rod and staff
are the comfort I need to know.
And I will trust…
