Call to Worship
Almighty God
You see the secret places of our hearts
You discern our thoughts and intentions
nothing in all creation is hidden from you

We draw near to you
by the mercy of your son
that your Holy Spirit may strengthen our innermost being

Hymn CH4 567: Focus my eyes on you

1 Focus my eyes on you, O Lord,
focus my eyes on you;
to worship in spirit and in truth,
focus my eyes on you.

2 Turn around my life to you, O Lord,
turn round my life to you;
to know from this time you’ve made me new,
turn around my life to you.

3 Fill up my heart with praise, O Lord,
fill up my heart with praise;
to speak of your live in every place,
fill up my heart with praise.

John 2:13-22

Jesus clears the temple courts

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.

So, he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said,

‘Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!’

His disciples remembered that it is written:

‘Zeal for your house will consume me.’

The Jews then responded to him, ‘What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?’

Jesus answered them,
‘Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.’

 They replied,
‘It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?’

But the temple he had spoken of was his body.

After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

Hymn MP 1 : A new Commandment

1 A new commandment I give unto you,
that you love one another as I have loved you,
that you love one another as I have loved you.

By this shall all men know that you are My disciples,
If you have love for one another.
By this shall all men know that you are My disciples,
If you have love for one another.

Hymn MP 760 : When we walk with the Lord

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His word,
what a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus
Trust and obey,
for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise,
not a cloud in the skies,
but His smile quickly drives it away;
not a doubt nor a fear,
not a sign nor a tear,
can abide while we trust and obey.
Chorus

3 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil He doth richly repay;
not a grief nor a loos,
not a frown nor a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
Chorus

4 But we never can prove
the delights of His love,
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favour He shows,
and the joy He bestows
are for them who will trush and obey.
Chorus

5 Then in fellowship sweet,
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do,
where He sends we will go,
never fear, only trust and obey.
Chorus

CH4 786

May the God of peace go with us
Firm in hope and full of grace
As we travel from this place
May the peace of Jesus keep us
Firm in hope and full of grace
