Call to Worship

God our strong hope
We bring you our weariness

God the light of our way
We bring you our lostness

God bearer of our sins
We bring you our brokenness

God Father of us all
We bring you our worship

MP 37: As the deer

1 As the deer pants for the water,
so my soul longs after You.
You alone are my heart’s desire
and I long to worship You.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield,
to You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart’s desire
and I long to worship You.

2 I want You more than gold or silver,
only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy-giver
and the apple of my eye.
Chorus

You’re my Friend and You are my brother,
even though You are a king.
I love You more than any other,
so much more than anything.
Chorus

Psalm 126

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, Lord,
like streams in the Negev.
Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them.

Mark 10:46-52.

Then they came to Jericho.
As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.
When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout,
“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,
“Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So, they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.”
Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.”
Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

CH4 532: Lord you have come to the seashore

1 Lord, you have come to the seashore,
neither searching for the rich nor the wise,
desiring only that I should follow

Chorus
O Lord, with your eyes set upon me,
gently smiling, you have spoken my name.
All I longed for I have found by the water,
at our side I will seek other shores

2 Lord, see my goods, my possesions;
in my boat you find no power, no wealth.
Will you accept then, my nets and my labour?
Chorus

3 Lord, take my hands and direct them.
Help me spend myself in seeking the lost,
returning love for the love you gave me.
Chorus

4 Lord, as I drift on the waters,
be the resting-place of my restless heath,
my life’s companion, my friend and refuge.
Chorus

MP 673:   There is a redeemer

1 There is a Redeemer,
Jesus, God’s own Son,
precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One.

Chorus
Thank You, O my Father,
for giving us Your Son,
and leaving Your Spirit
till the work on earth is done.

2 Jesus, my Redeemer,
name above all names,
precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
O for sinners slain.
Chorus

3 When I stand in glory
I will see His face,
and there I’ll serve my King for ever
in that holy place.
Chorus
