The sacrifices of long ago
Names carved in stone
Black and white images
Of a generation
Generous in life and giving
On the 11th hour of the 11th month we remember
The cost borne today
The vivid images of TV and video
And the quiet suffering
In hospitals and homes
Where hearts and lives have been broken
May they, knowing they are remembered,
find God’s peace and live in His love. Amen
