Easter Reading Luke 24: 1 – 12

“Why are you looking among the dead for one who is alive? He is not here; he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, be crucified, and three days later rise to life.’”

Prayer for ourselves and others

This is the day when love triumphs
This is the day when life conquers death
This is the day of new beginning for every one of us.

So we pray this Easter Day that the blessing of Christ risen
May be for us and for our world

We think on others and remember
Everyone who is working to support and help others
In hospitals and care homes
In supermarkets and food delivery
In government and council

May peace be among us
And hope lighten our darkness

We think on others and remember
Everyone who feels lonely
Everyone who cannot be with their friends and family
Everyone who feels burdened and afraid

We think on others and remember
Everyone who has lost a loved one
Everyone grieving through this day
Everyone feeling the future lost

May peace be among us
And hope lighten our darkness
So may all be blessed through Christ our risen Lord. Amen.
