Call to worship
I wait patiently for the Lord
For he hears my cry
He lifts me out of the slimy pit
Out of the mud and mire
He sets my feet on a rock and gives me a firm place to stand
He outs a new hymn of praise in my mouth
All praise be to our God
Based on Psalm 40

CH4 506/MP 799: All I once held dear

1 All I once held dear,
built my life upon,
all this world reveres,
and wars to own,
all I once thought gain
I have counted loss:
spent and worthless now,
compared to this:
Chorus: Knowing You, Jesus,
knowing You,
there is no greater thing.
You’re my all
You’re the best,
You’re my joy, my righteousness
and I love You, Lord.

2 now my heart’s desire
is to know You more,
to be found in You
and known as Yours,
to possess by faith
what I could not earn<
all-surparsing gift
of righteousness.

3 Oh, to know the power
of Yor risen life,
and to know You in
Your sufferings,
to become like You
in Your death, my Lord,
so with You to live
and never die,

God’s Love is the best love

God’s love is the best love
That the world has ever, ever known
Deeper that the deep sea
Is the love that only God has shown
Higher than a rocket up in space
Wider than the total human race
God’s love is the best love
That the world has ever, ever
Will ever, ever know

Luke 18:1-8 New International Version –The parable of the persistent widow

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
He said: ‘In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, “Grant me justice against my adversary.”
‘For some time he refused. But finally, he said to himself,
“Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!”’
And the Lord said, ‘Listen to what the unjust judge says.
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.
However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?’

MP 760:  Trust and Obey

1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of His word,
what a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus: Trust and Obey
for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise,
not a cloud in the skies,
but His smile quickly drives it away;
not a doubt nor a fear,
not a sigh nor a tear,
can abide while we trust and obey.

3 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil He doth richly repay;
not a grief nor a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.

4 But we never can prove
the delights if His love,
until all on the alter we lay;
for the favour He shows,
and the joys He bestows
are for them who will trust and obey.

5 Then in fellowship sweet,
we will sit at His feet,
or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
where He sends we will go,
never fear, only trust and obey.

CH4 547/MP 746: What a friend we have

1 What a friend we have in Jesus
all our sins and grief to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear
all because we do not carry
everything to God in Prayer!

2 Have we trials or tribulations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged:
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
take it to the Lord in prayer!

3 Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious saviour, still our refuge!
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do thy friends despise, forsake you?
take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
thou wilt find a solace there.

CH4 515/MP 604: Soldiers of Christ

1 Soldiers of Christ arise
and put your armour on,
string in the strength which God supplies
through His Eternal Son.
Strong in the Lord of hosts,
and in His mighty power.
who in the strength of Jesus trusts
is more than conqueror.

2 Stand then in His great might,
with all His strength endued;
and take, to arm you for the fight,
the panoply of God:
to keep your armour bright,
attend with constant care,
still walking in your Captain’s sight
and watching unto prayer.

3 From strength to strength go on,
wrestle and fight and pray,
tread all the powers of darkness down
and win the well-fought day.
That, having all things done,
and all your conflicts past,
ye may o’ercome through Christ alone,
and stand entire at last.
