And we stayed there several days.<br \/>\nOn the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.<br \/>\nOne of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshipper of God.<br \/>\nThe Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul\u2019s message.<br \/>\nWhen she and the members of her household were baptised, she invited us to her home.<br \/>\n\u2018If you consider me a believer in the Lord,\u2019 she said, \u2018come and stay at my house.\u2019 And she persuaded us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Romans 8 : 31 \u2013 39 <\/strong><strong>New International Version &#8211; UK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all\u00a0\u2013 how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?<br \/>\nWho will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.<br \/>\nWho then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died\u00a0\u2013 more than that, who was raised to life\u00a0\u2013 is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.<br \/>\nWho shall separate us from the love of Christ?
