Bible Reading: 1 Peter 2: 1-10 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Therefore, rid yourselves\u00a0of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander\u00a0of every kind.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
\nAs you come to him, the living Stone\u2014rejected by humans but chosen by God\u00a0and precious to him\u2014\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>you also, like living stones, are being built\u00a0into a spiritual house\u00a0to be a holy priesthood,\u00a0offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For in Scripture it says:
\n\u201cSee, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone,
\nand the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.\u201d
\nNow to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
\n\u201cThe stone the builders rejected\u00a0has become the cornerstone,\u201d
\nand,
\n\u201cA stone that causes people to stumble\u00a0and a rock that makes them fall.\u201d
\nThey stumble because they disobey the message\u2014which is also what they were destined for.
\nBut you are a chosen people,\u00a0a royal priesthood,\u00a0a holy nation,\u00a0God\u2019s special possession,\u00a0that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God;\u00a0once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.<\/p>\n

1 Church of God, elect and glorious,
\nholy nation, chosen race;
\ncalled as God’s own special people,
\nroyal priests and heirs of grace:
\nknow the purpose of your calling,
\nshow to all his mighty deeds;
\ntell of love which knows no limits,
\ngrace which meets all human needs.<\/p>\n

2 God has called you out of darkness
\ninto his most marvellous light;
\nbrought his truth to life within you,
\nturned your blindness into sight.
