They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half-dead.<br \/>\nA priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.<br \/>\nSo too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.<br \/>\nBut a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.<br \/>\nHe went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.<br \/>\nThe next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. \u201c<em>Look after him,\u201d <\/em>he said<em>, \u201cand when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.\u201d<br \/>\n<\/em>\u2018Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?\u2019<br \/>\nThe expert in the law replied, \u2018<em>The one who had mercy on him.\u2019<br \/>\n<\/em>Jesus told him,\u00a0\u2018<em>Go and do likewise.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>CH4 544 When I needed a neighbour<\/p>\n<p>1 When I needed a neighbour<br \/>\nwere you there, were you there?<br \/>\nWhen I needed a neighbour were you there?<br \/>\nChorus And the creed and the colour and name don&#8217;t mater were you there?<\/p>\n<p>2 I was hungry and thirsty<br \/>\nwere you there, were you there?<br \/>\nI was hungry and thirsty were you there?<\/p>\n<p>3 I was cold I was naked<br \/>\nwere you there, were you there?<br \/>\nI was cold, I was naked were you there?<\/p>\n<p>4 When I needed a shelter,<br \/>\nwere you there, were you there?<br \/>\nWhen I needed a shelter, were you there?<\/p>\n<p>5 When I needed a neighbour<br \/>\nwere you there, were you there?<br \/>\nWhen I needed a neighbour were you there?<\/p>\n<p>6 Wherever you travel<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll be there, I&#8217;ll be there<br \/>\nWherever you travel I&#8217;ll be there<br \/>\nAnd the creed and the colour and name don&#8217;t mater I&#8217;ll be there<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>CH4 257;
