\nWe are known to God
\nWhatever we\u2019ve done
\nWe belong to God
\nWherever we go
\nWe are loved by God
\nWhen our way is joyful
\nGod will rejoice with us
\nWhen the going is rough
\nGod will wipe away our tears
\nWe are God\u2019s people, held in his love
\nOur hope is in the goodness of God<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>But my Sovereign\u00a0Lord, help me as you have promised,
\nand rescue me because of the goodness of your love.

\n<\/strong>Sometime later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals.\u00a0Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.
\nHere a great number of disabled people used to lie\u00a0\u2013 the blind, the lame, the paralysed.
\nOne who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.
\nWhen Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him,\u00a0\u2018Do you want to get well?\u2019
\n<\/em>\u2018Sir,<\/em>\u2019 the invalid replied, \u2018I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.\u2019
\n<\/em>Then Jesus said to him,\u00a0\u2018Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.<\/em>\u2019
\nAt once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
\nThe day on which this took place was a Sabbath,<\/p>\n
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
\nin a believer’s ear!
\nIt soothes his sorrows,
\nheals his wounds,
\nand drives away his fear.<\/p>\n
\nand calms the troubled breast;
\n’tis manna to the hungry soul,
\nand to the weary rest.<\/p>\n
\nmy shield and hiding place.
\nmy never failing treasury, filled
\nwith boundless stores of grace.<\/p>\n
\nmy Prophet, Priest and King;
\nMy Lord, my life, my way, my end,
\naccept the praise I bring<\/p>\n
\nand cold my warmest thought;
\nbut when I see Thee as Thou art,
\nI’ll believe Thee as Thou art,<\/p>\n
\nwith every fleeting breath;
\nand may the music of Thy name
\nrefresh my soul in death!<\/p>\n
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
\nour neighbours hurt and bruised;
\nyou show us how old pains and wounds
\nfor new life can be used.<\/div>\n
\nfriends parted, families torn;
\nthen in your life and death we see
\nthat love must be reborn.<\/div>\n
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
\nall my trust He shall renew
\nHe, my guide through changing order,,
\nonly good and only true.
\nGod unknown,
\nHe alone
\ncalls my heart to be His own.<\/p>\n
\nsword and crown betray His trust;
\nall that human toil can fashion,
\ntower and temple, fall to dust.
\nBut God’s power,
\nhour by hour,
\nin my temple and my tower.<\/p>\n
\ngrants to us His gifts of love;
\nin His will our souls find pleasure,
\nleading to our home above.
\nLove shall stand
\nat His hand,
\njoy shall wait for His command.<\/p>\n
\nsacrifice of praise be done,
\nhigh above all praises praising
\nfor the gift of Christ His Son.
\nHear Christ’s call
\none and all:
\nwe who follow shall not fall.<\/p>\n
