\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The apostles and the believers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticised him\u00a0and said, \u2018You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.\u2019
\nStarting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story:\u00a0\u2018I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was.\u00a0I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Then I heard a voice telling me,\u00a0\u201cGet up, Peter. Kill and eat.\u201d
\n\u2018I replied, \u201cSurely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.\u201d
\n\u2018The voice spoke from heaven a second time,\u00a0\u201cDo not call anything impure that God has made clean.\u201d\u00a0This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.
\n\u2018Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying.\u00a0The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man\u2019s house.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, \u201cSend to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.\u00a0He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.\u201d
\n\u2018As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.\u00a0Then I remembered what the Lord had said:\u00a0\u201cJohn baptised with\u00a0water, but you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit.\u201d
\nSo if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God\u2019s way?\u2019
\nWhen they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, \u2018So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.\u2019<\/p>\n

John 13: 31b – 35
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus said,\u00a0\u2018Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him.\u00a0If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
\n\u2018My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: where I am going, you cannot come.
\n\u2018A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.\u2019 Simon Peter asked him, \u2018Lord, where are you going?\u2019<\/p>\n

MP 147: Fill your hearts with joy

1 Fill your heart with joy and gladness,
\nsing and praise your God and mine!
\nGreat the Lord in love and wisdom,
\nmight and majesty divine!
\nHe who framed the starry heavens
\nknows and names them as they shine.<\/p>\n

2 Praise the Lord, His people, praise Him!
\nwounded souls His comfort know;
\nthose who fear Him find His mercies,
\npeace from pain and joy for woe;
