John 20:1-10 New International Version \u2013 UK The empty tomb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went tohe tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, \u2018They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don\u2019t know where they have put him!\u2019
\n<\/em>So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.\u00a0Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.\u00a0He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.\u00a0Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,\u00a0as well as the cloth that had been wrapped round Jesus\u2019 head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.\u00a0Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)\u00a0Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.<\/p>\n

John 20 : 11 \u2013 18 Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb\u00a0and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus\u2019 body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
\nThey asked her, \u2018Woman, why are you crying?\u2019
\n<\/em>\u2018They have taken my Lord away,\u2019 she said, \u2018and I don\u2019t know where they have put him.\u2019<\/em>\u00a0At this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realise that it was Jesus.
\nHe asked her,\u00a0\u2018Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?\u2019
\n<\/em>Thinking he was the gardener, she said, \u2018Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.\u2019
\nJesus said to her,\u00a0\u2018Mary<\/em>.\u2019
\nShe turned towards him and cried out in Aramaic, \u2018Rabboni<\/em>!\u2019 (which means \u2018Teacher\u2019).
\nJesus said,\u00a0\u2018Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, \u201cI am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.\u201d\u2019
\n<\/em>Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: \u2018I have seen the Lord!\u2019<\/em> And she told them that he had said these things to her.<\/p>\n
