He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope.\u201d<br \/>\nThis is what God the Lord says \u2014 the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out,<br \/>\nwho spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people,<br \/>\nand life to those who walk on it: <strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cI, the\u00a0Lord, have called\u00a0you in righteousness;<br \/>\nI will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.<br \/>\n<strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cI am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.<br \/>\nSee, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce\u00a0them to you.\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 3 : 13 \u2013 17 New International Version &#8211; UK<br \/>\n<\/strong>Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John.\u00a0But John tried to deter him, saying,\u00a0<em>\u2018I need to be baptised by you, and do you come to me?\u2019<br \/>\n<\/em>Jesus replied,\u00a0\u2018<em>Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfil all righteousness.\u2019&#8217;<br \/>\n<\/em>Then John consented.<br \/>\nAs soon as Jesus was baptised, he went up out of the water.
