\nI will praise the Lord all my life

CH4 129\/MP656: The Lord is King
\n1 The Lord is King! lift up your voice!
\nLet earth and all heaven rejoice.
\nFrom world to world the joy shall ring,
\n‘The Lord\u00a0 omnipotent is King!’<\/em><\/p>\n

2 The Lord is King! who then shall dare
\nresist his will, distrust his care,
\nor murmur at the wise decrees,
\nor doubt his royal promises?<\/p>\n

3 The Lord is King! child of the dust,
\nthe judge of all the earth is just;
\nholy and true are all his ways;
\nlet every creature speak his praise.<\/p>\n

4 Come, make your wants, your burdens known;
\nChrist will present them at the throne;
\nfor he is at the Father’s side,

CH4 268\/MP709: O God of Bethel<\/p>\n

1 O God of Bethel! by whose hand
\nthy people still are fed,
\nwho through this earthly pilgrimage
\nhast all our fathers led:<\/p>\n

2 Our vows, our prayers, we now present
\nbefore thy throne of grace;
\nGod if our fathers! be the God
\nof their succeeding race.<\/p>\n

3 Through each perplexing path of life
\nour wandering footsteps guide;
\ngive us each day our daily bread,
\nand raiment fit provide.<\/p>\n

4 O spread thy covering wings wings around,
\ntill all wanderings cease,
\nand at out Father’s loved abode
\nour souls arrive in peace.<\/em><\/p>\n

5 Such blessings from thy gracious hand
\nour humble prayers implore;

2 Samuel 5: 1-5, 9-10
\n<\/em>All the tribes of Israel\u00a0came to David at Hebron and said,
\n\u201cWe are your own flesh and blood.\u00a0In the past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns.\u00a0And the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said\u00a0to you,
\n\u2018You will shepherd\u00a0my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.\u2019\u201d
\nWhen all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, the king made a covenant\u00a0with them at Hebron before the\u00a0Lord, and they anointed\u00a0David king over Israel.
\nDavid was thirty years old\u00a0when he became king, and he reigned\u00a0forty\u00a0years.
\nIn Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months,\u00a0and in Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah thirty-three years.
\nDavid then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the terraces inward.\u00a0And he became more and more powerful,\u00a0because the\u00a0Lord\u00a0God Almighty\u00a0was with him.<\/p>\n

Mark 6 : 1- 13
\n<\/em>Jesus left there and went to his home town, accompanied by his disciples.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.
\n\u2018Where did this man get these things?\u2019 they asked.
\n\u2018What\u2019s this wisdom that has been given him?
\nWhat are these remarkable miracles he is performing?
\nIsn\u2019t this the carpenter?
\nIsn\u2019t this Mary\u2019s son and the brother of James, Joseph\u00a0Judas and Simon? Aren\u2019t his sisters here with us?\u2019
\nAnd they took offence at him.
\nJesus said to them,\u00a0\u2018A prophet is not without honour except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.\u2019 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few people who were ill and heal them.\u00a06\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>He was amazed at their lack of faith.
\nThen Jesus went around teaching from village to village.\u00a0Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.
\nThese were his instructions:
\n\u2018Take nothing for the journey except a staff\u00a0\u2013 no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.
\nWear sandals but not an extra shirt.
\nWhenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.\u2019
\n<\/sup><\/strong>They went out and preached that people should repent.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>They drove out many demons and anointed with oil many people who were ill and healed them.<\/p>\n

CH4 356\/MP 465 Meekness and Majesty<\/p>\n

1 Meekness and majesty, manhood and deity;
\nin perfect harmony – the man who is God;
\nLord of eternity, dwells in humanity,
\nkneels in humility and washes our feet.
\nChorus: Oh what a mystery – meekness and majesty;
\nbow down and worship, for this is your God,
\nthis is your God!<\/p>\n

2 Father’s pure radiance, perfect in innocence,
\nyet learns obedience to death on a cross;
\nsuffering to give us life, conquering through sacrifice,
\nand, as they crucify, prays, ‘Father forgive’.<\/p>\n

3 Wisdom unsearchable, God the invisible,
\nlove indestructible in frailty appears;
\nLord of infinity, stooping so tenderly,
\nlifts our humanity to the heights of his throne.<\/p>\n

CH4 738\/MP 173: Glorious things<\/em>
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

1 Glorious things of thee are spoken,
\nZion, city of our God;
\nhe whose word cannot be broken
\nformed thee for his own abode.
\nOn the Rock of Ages founded,
\nwhat can shake thy sure repose?
\nWith salvation’s walls surrounded,
\nthou mayest smile at all thy foes.<\/p>\n

2 See! the streams of living water,
\nspringing from eternal love,
\nwell supply thy sons and daughters,
\nWho can faint while such a river
\never will their thirst assuage –
\ngrace which, like the Lord the Giver,
\nnever fails from age to age?<\/p>\n
