Dear Lord and Father of Mankind,<br \/>\nforgive our foolish ways;<br \/>\nre-clothe us in our rightful mind;<br \/>\nin purer lives Thy service find,<br \/>\nin deeper reverence, praise.<\/p>\n<p>2. In simple trust like theirs who heard,<br \/>\nbeside the Syrian sea,<br \/>\nthe gracious calling of the Lord,<br \/>\nlet us, like them, without a word<br \/>\nrise up and follow Thee.<\/p>\n<p>3. O Sabbath rest by Galilee!<br \/>\nO calm of hills above,<br \/>\nwhere Jesus knelt to share with Thee<br \/>\nthe silence of eternity,<br \/>\ninterpreted by love!<\/p>\n<p>4. With that deep hush subduing all<br \/>\nour words and works that drown<br \/>\nthe tender whisper of Thy call,<br \/>\nas noiseless let Thy blessing fall<br \/>\nas fell Thy manna down.<\/p>\n<p>5. Drop Thy still dew of quietness,<br \/>\ntill all our strivings cease;<br \/>\ntake from our souls<br \/>\nthe strains and stress,<br \/>\nand let our ordered lives confess<br \/>\nthe beauty of Thy peace.<\/p>\n<p>6. Breathe through the hears of our desire<br \/>\nThy coolness and Thy balm;<br \/>\nlet sense be dumb, let flesh retire;<br \/>\nspeak through the earthquake,<br \/>\nwind and fire,<br \/>\nO still small voice of calm!<\/p>\n<p>Bible Reading: Mark 4: 35-41<br \/>\nThat day when evening came, he said to his disciples, \u201cLet us go over to the other side.\u201d <strong><sup>36\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. <strong><sup>37\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. <strong><sup>38\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, \u201cTeacher, don\u2019t you care if we drown?\u201d<br \/>\nHe got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves,\u00a0\u201cQuiet! Be still!\u201d\u00a0Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.<br \/>\nHe said to his disciples,\u00a0\u201cWhy are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?\u201d<br \/>\nThey were terrified and asked each other, \u201cWho is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CH4 565 \u2013 My life flows on in endless song<br \/>\n1. My life flows on in endless song<br \/>\nabove earth&#8217;s lamentation:<br \/>\ni catch the sweet, though far off, hymn<br \/>\nthat hails a new creation.<br \/>\nChorus:<br \/>\nNo storm can shade my inmost calm<br \/>\nwhile to that Rock I&#8217;m clinging.<br \/>\nSince love is Lord of heaven and earth,<br \/>\nhow can I keep from singing?<\/p>\n<p>2. What though my joys and comforts die?<br \/>\nThe Lord, my Saviour, liveth.<br \/>\nWhat though the darkness round me close?<br \/>\nSongs in the night he giveth.<\/p>\n<p>4, The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart,<br \/>\na fountain ever springing.<br \/>\nAll things are mine since I am his!<br \/>\nHow can I keep from singing?<\/p>\n<p>MP 770 &#8211; Will your anchor hold<br \/>\n1. Will your anchor hold in the storms of strife,<br \/>\nwhen the clouds unfold their wings of strife?<br \/>\nWhen the string tides lift, and the cable strain,<br \/>\nwill your anchor drift, or firm remain?<br \/>\nChorus: We have an anchor that keeps the soul<br \/>\nsteadfast and sure while the billows roll;<br \/>\nfastened to the rock which cannot more,<br \/>\ngrounded firm and deep in the Saviour&#8217;s love!<\/p>\n<p>2. Will your anchor hold in the straits of fear,<br \/>\nwhen the breakers roar and the reef is near?<br \/>\nWhile the surges rage, and the wild wind blows,<br \/>\nshall the angry waves, then your bark o&#8217;erflow?<\/p>\n<p>3. Will your anchor hold in the floods of death,<br \/>\nwhen the waters cold chill your latest breath?<br \/>\nOn the rising tided you can never fail,<br \/>\nwhile your anchor holds within the veil.<\/p>\n<p>4.
