\nThis is what the Sovereign\u00a0Lord\u00a0says: I myself will take a shoot from the very top of a cedar and plant it; I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain. On the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it; it will produce branches and bear fruit and become a splendid cedar. Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches. All the trees of the forest will know that I the\u00a0Lord\u00a0bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.
\n\u2018\u201cI the\u00a0Lord\u00a0have spoken, and I will do it.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n
\nThe parable of the growing seed
\n<\/strong>He also said, \u2018This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces corn \u2013 first the stalk, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. As soon as the corn is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Again he said, \u2018What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.\u2019
\nWith many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand.\u00a034\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything<\/p>\n\n
\nlike aa flower in beauty growing,
\nfar beyond all human knowing,
\nis the perfect peace of God.<\/li>\n
\nlike the coursing clouds of heaven,
\nlike the heart that’s been forgiven,
\nin the perfect peace of God.<\/li>\n
\nlike the tall trees softly swaying,
\nlike the lips of silent praying
\nis the perfect peace of God.<\/li>\n
\nlike the scents of evening blended,
\nlike a friendship never ended
\nis the perfect peace of God.<\/li>\n
\nlike the jewel all-excelling,
\nfar beyond our human telling
\nis the perfect peace of God.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
\nSinging, we gladly worship the Lord together.
\nSinging, we gladly worship the Lord.
\nThose who are travelling the road of life
\nsow seeds of peace and love.<\/p>\n\n
\na world which is burdened down with dread,
\na world which is yearning for a greater love
\nbut needs to be shown the true way.<\/li>\n
\nsome kindling to light the path of peace,
\nsome hope that there is a more human world
\nwhere justice and truth will be born.<\/li>\n
\nare banished for ever from our hearts,
\nthen will the world believe the day is near
\nwhen sadness and pain shall find their end.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
