Call to worship<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holy Risen One,
\nwe gather this day
\nand we come as we are:
\nfragile yet faithful,
\nbroken yet devoted.
\nAccept all we bring before you today.
\nAccept our worship, we pray.<\/p>\n

CH4 252 As a fire is meant for burning<\/strong>
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

1 As a fire is meant for burning
\nwith a bright and warming flame,
\nso the Church is meant for mission,
\ngiving glory to God’s name.
\nPreaching Christ, and not our customs,
\nlet us build a bridge of care,
\njoining hands across the nations,
\nfinding neighbours everywhere,<\/p>\n

2 We are learners; we are teachers;
\nwe are pilgrims on the way.
\nWe are seekers; we are givers;
\nwe are vessels made of clay.
\nBy our gentle, loving actions,
\nwe will show that Christ is light.
\nIn a humble, listening Spirit,
\nwe will live to God’s delight.<\/p>\n

3 As a green bud in the springtime
\nis a sign of life renewed,
\nso may we be signs of oneness
\n‘mid- earth’s peoples, many-hued.
\nAs a rainbows lights the heavens
\nwhen a storm is past and gone,
\nso may we reflect the radiance
\nof God’s new and glorious dawn.<\/p>\n

John 17 6 – 19<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world.
\nThey were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
\nNow they know that everything you have given me comes from you.
\nFor I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.<\/p>\n

I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.\u00a0
\n<\/sup><\/strong>All I have is yours, and all you have is mine.
\nAnd glory has come to me through them.<\/p>\n

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you.
\nHoly Father, protect them by the power of\u00a0your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
\n\u2018I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
\nI have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.\u00a0
\n<\/sup><\/strong>My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
\nThey are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
\nSanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
\nAs you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
\n\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.<\/p>\n

MP 806 Beauty for brokenness<\/strong>
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

1 Beauty for brokenness,
\nhope for despair,
\nLord, in Your suffering world
\nthis is our prayer,
\nBread for the children,
\njustice, joy, peace,
\nsunrise to sunset,
\nYour kingdom increase!<\/p>\n

\nGod for the poor,
\nfriends of the weak,
\ngive us compassion we pray:
\nmelt our colds hearts,
\nlet tears fall like rain;
\ncome, change our love
\nform a spark to a flame.<\/em><\/p>\n

2 Shelter for fragile lives,

\nwork for the craftsmen,
\ntrade for their skills;
\nland for the dispossessed,
\nrights for the weak,
