{"id":1765,"date":"2021-05-09T10:00:55","date_gmt":"2021-05-09T09:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/standrewsbaillieston.co.uk\/?page_id=1765"},"modified":"2021-05-08T14:40:38","modified_gmt":"2021-05-08T13:40:38","slug":"order-of-service-sunday-9-may-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/standrewsbaillieston.co.uk\/?page_id=1765","title":{"rendered":"Order of Service &#8211; Sunday 9 May 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>God\u2019s Friends<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(words for hymns and bible reading can be found below the order of service)<\/p>\n<p>Welcome &amp; Intimations<br \/>\nCall to Worship<br \/>\nCH4 510 Jesus calls us here to meet him<br \/>\nReading\u00a0 \u00a0Acts 10: 44 \u2013 48<br \/>\nJohn: 15: 8 &#8211; 17<br \/>\nPrayer &amp; Lord\u2019s Prayer<br \/>\nMP 1 A new commandment<br \/>\nReflection<br \/>\nVideo: My Jesus my saviour<br \/>\nPrayer for others<br \/>\nMP 746 What a friend we have in Jesus<br \/>\nBlessing<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call to Worship <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children of God<br \/>\nThis is what we are<br \/>\nPeople of God<br \/>\nThis is who we are<br \/>\nWe give thanks to God<br \/>\nFor God is Good<br \/>\nThe love of God is now and forever<\/p>\n<p><strong>CH4 510: Jesus calls us here to meet him<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 Jesus, calls us here to meet him<br \/>\nas, through word and song and prayer,<br \/>\nwe affirm God&#8217;s promised presence<br \/>\nwhere his people live and care.<br \/>\nPraise the God who keeps his promise;<br \/>\npraise the Son who calls us friends;<br \/>\npraise the Spirit who, among us,<br \/>\nto our hopes and fears attends<\/p>\n<p>2 Jesus calls us to confess him<br \/>\nWord of life and Lord of all,<br \/>\nsharer of our flesh and frailness,<br \/>\nsaving all who fail or fall.<br \/>\nTell his tales that all may hear;<br \/>\ntell his tales that all may hear;<br \/>\ntell the world that Christ in glory<br \/>\ncame to earth to meet us here.<\/p>\n<p>3 Jesus calls us to each other,<br \/>\nvastly different though we are;<br \/>\ncreed and colour, class and gender<br \/>\nneither limit nor debar.<br \/>\nJoin the hand of friend and stranger;<br \/>\njoin the hands of age and youth;<br \/>\njoin the faithful and the doubter<br \/>\nin their common search for truth.<\/p>\n<p>4 Jesus calls us to his table<br \/>\nrooted firm in time and space,<br \/>\nwhere the Church in earth and heaven<br \/>\nfinds a common meeting place.<br \/>\nShare the bread, the wine, his body;<br \/>\nshare the love of which we sing;<br \/>\nshare the feast for saints and sinners<br \/>\nhosted by our Lord and King.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acts 10:44-48<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on\u00a0all who heard the message.\u00a0The circumcised believers who had come with Peter\u00a0were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out\u00a0even on Gentiles.<br \/>\nFor they heard them speaking in tongues\u00a0and praising God.<br \/>\nThen Peter said,<br \/>\n\u201cSurely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water.\u00a0They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.\u201d<br \/>\nSo, he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.\u00a0Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John 15:8-17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is to my Father\u2019s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.<br \/>\n\u2018As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.\u00a0If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father\u2019s commands and remain in his love.\u00a0I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.<br \/>\nMy command is this: love each other as I have loved you.<br \/>\nGreater love has no one than this: to lay down one\u2019s life for one\u2019s friends.\u00a0<strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master\u2019s business.
