John 12:20-33<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival.\u00a0They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. \u2018Sir,\u2019 they said, \u2018we would like to see Jesus.\u2019\u00a0Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.<\/p>\n

Jesus replied,\u00a0\u2018The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.\u00a0Very truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.\u00a0Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.\u00a0Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honour the one who serves me.<\/p>\n

\u2018Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? \u201cFather, save me from this hour\u201d? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour.\u00a0Father, glorify your name!\u2019<\/p>\n

Then a voice came from heaven, \u2018I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.\u2019\u00a0The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.<\/p>\n

Jesus said, \u2018This voice was for your benefit, not mine. Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up[<\/sup>a<\/sup><\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0from the earth, will draw all people to myself.\u2019\u00a0He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.<\/p>\n

MP 275: I heard the voice of Jesus<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
\n‘Come unto Me and rest;
\nlay down, thou weary one, lay down,
\nthy head upon My breast’:
\nI came to Jesus as I was,
\nweary, and worn, and sad;
\nI found in Him a resting-place,
\nand He has made me glad.<\/p>\n

2 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
\n‘Behold, I freely give
\nthe living water; thirsty one,
\nstoop down and drink,\u00a0 and live’:
\nI came to Jesus, and I drank
\nof that life-giving stream;
\nmy thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
\nand now I live in Him.<\/p>\n

3 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
\n‘I am this dark world’s light;
\nlook unto Me, thy morn shall rise,
\nand all thy day be bright’:
\nI looked to Jesus and I found
\nin Him my star, my sun;
\nand in that light of life I’ll walk
\ntill travelling days are done.<\/p>\n
