Call to Worship
\n<\/strong>Almighty God
\nYou see the secret places of our hearts
\nYou discern our thoughts and intentions
\nnothing in all creation is hidden from you<\/p>\n

We draw near to you
\nby the mercy of your son
\nthat your Holy Spirit may strengthen our innermost being<\/p>\n

Hymn CH4 567: Focus my eyes on you<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 Focus my eyes on you, O Lord,
\nfocus my eyes on you;
\nto worship in spirit and in truth,
\nfocus my eyes on you.<\/p>\n

John 2:13-22<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus clears the temple courts<\/strong><\/p>\n

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.<\/p>\n

So, he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables.\u00a0To those who sold doves he said,<\/p>\n

\u2018Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father\u2019s house into a market!\u2019<\/p>\n

His disciples remembered that it is written:<\/p>\n

\u2018Zeal for your house will consume me.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Jews then responded to him, \u2018What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?\u2019<\/p>\n

Jesus answered them,
\n\u2018Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>They replied,
\n\u2018It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?\u2019<\/p>\n

But the temple he had spoken of was his body.<\/p>\n

After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.<\/p>\n

1 A new commandment I give unto you,
\nthat you love one another as I have loved you,

By this shall all men know that you are My disciples,
