They lived in a land of shadow but now light is shining on them. (Isaiah 9:2)<\/p>\n<p>In this season of Advent, we are here to watch and wait and pray for the coming of the light into the world. We long for the day when the things of darkness shall be no more<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Light the Advent Candle<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ALL<br \/>\n<\/strong>Lord, by your presence, light up the past<br \/>\nthat we might learn from it with thankfulness<\/p>\n<p>Light up the present,<br \/>\nthat we might live in it, in love<\/p>\n<p>Light up the future<br \/>\nthat we might prepare for it in hope<\/p>\n<p>As we watch and wait and pray<br \/>\nmay we always be ready to encounter the Lord<br \/>\nwho is already and always with us. Amen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark 13: 24-27 &amp; 32-37<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>The coming of the Son of Man<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But in those days, following that distress,<br \/>\nthe sun will be darkened,<br \/>\nand the moon will not give its light;<br \/>\nthe stars will fall from the sky,<br \/>\nand the heavenly bodies will be shaken.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.<\/p>\n<p>But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.<strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Be on guard! Be alert!\u00a0You do not know when that time will come.
